On 18 May 2016 that Microsoft announced the sale of the Nokia-branded featurephone division to FIH Mobile, a division of Foxconn, and HMD, a new company in Finland. The two will be working together to create Nokia-branded devices. HMD Global announced that they are planning to enter the world market of smartphones and tablets devices equipped with the Android mobile platform.
